God’s Love Is Personal
"As the Father has loved me, I have also loved you." - John 15:9
It is one thing to believe that God loves the world. It is another thing to believe that God loves you. Personally. Deeply. Intimately.
Augustine once said, “God loves each of us as if there were only one of us.” Think about that. The God who created the universe, who spoke the stars into existence, who rules over all things, sees you. He has known you longer than anyone else ever has, and He loves you more than anyone else ever will.
In John 15:9, Jesus makes an incredible statement. He says, “As the Father has loved me, I have also loved you.” Let that sink in. The same love that God the Father has for Jesus—the perfect, eternal, unshakable love of heaven—is the same love that Jesus has for you. Not in a general sense. Not in a distant way. But in a personal, individual way.
God’s love is not just for a group of people. It is not limited to those who seem to have it all together. It is not reserved for the strongest or the most faithful. His love is for you. He sees every detail of your life, every thought, every fear, every struggle, and He loves you just the same.
You are not just another person in the crowd. You are known. You are seen. You are loved. The world offers a love that is shallow and conditional, but God’s love is personal and unchanging. No matter where you are, no matter what you have done, His love is reaching for you today.
Will you embrace it? Will you rest in the truth that the God of the universe knows you by name and calls you His own? His love is not distant. It is personal, and it is yours.
