Unending Security
"The Lord will keep you from all evil; he will keep your life. The Lord will keep your going out and your coming in from this time forth and forevermore." - Psalm 121:7-8
When the Bible talks about God as our source of security, it’s not just a temporary promise. It’s a permanent one. God’s protection is both for today and for eternity. That’s what makes His security unending.
Let’s break down what God’s security really means. First, there’s His authority. He’s the Creator of everything, the One who alone is equipped to be God in your life. Then, there’s His stability. He’s the One who makes your feet like the feet of a deer, giving you steady footing even when the journey feels impossible.
He also offers consistency. God never sleeps or takes a break. He’s always alert, fully committed to being your Protector. And then there’s His safety. God’s presence is your shelter. His protection is like shade covering you from the dangers of the day and the fears of the night.
But the greatest part of all is the hope for eternity. When the Psalmist says, “The Lord will protect your life,” that word “life” also means “soul.” God’s protection isn’t just about your physical life today. It’s about your spiritual life for all eternity.
Paul understood this when he said, “These present sufferings are no comparison to the future glory I’ll have in Christ Jesus.” How could he say that with so much confidence? Because his salvation was secure. He knew that no matter what happened to him, no one could take Jesus away from him.
That’s the kind of assurance you can have when Jesus is your Protector. You can walk through this life with boldness, knowing that God is with you and for you. Knowing that His protection is unending.
Are you living with that kind of confidence? Do you have that kind of assurance today? If you belong to Jesus, then your life is protected both now and forever. That truth should give you the courage to face whatever comes your way, knowing that God’s security is the only security that truly lasts.
