The Day That’s Coming
"He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away." - Revelation 21:4
It’s one of the most common questions people ask when they look at the pain and injustice in the world: “If God can stop it all, why hasn’t He?” It’s a fair question. But the answer isn’t that God won’t, it’s that He hasn’t yet.
Scripture is clear. A day is coming when all suffering will end and evil will be fully dealt with. Revelation 21:4 promises that God will wipe away every tear, and pain, grief, and death will be no more. It’s not just wishful thinking, it’s the guarantee God has given His people.
But it’s not just suffering that will be dealt with on that day. Justice will also be served. Second Corinthians 5:10 tells us we will all appear before the judgment seat of Christ. Romans 14:12 reminds us that every one of us will give an account of our life. In other words, nothing will go unnoticed. God will bring perfect justice in His perfect time.
So why wait? Why doesn’t Jesus just come back today? Scripture gives us a glimpse into God’s heart in 2 Peter 3:9. It says God’s delay is not forgetfulness or weakness. It’s patience. He’s waiting because of love. He’s giving time for more people to turn to Him, to experience His grace, and to choose life over destruction.
Maybe you’ve been waiting too. Maybe you’ve been wondering if God has forgotten about you or the pain you’re walking through. Hear this today: God hasn’t forgotten. He’s not absent. And when Jesus returns, the fog will lift, your faith will become sight, and your questions will be answered.
Until that day, God’s patience is a gift. It’s another chance for you or someone you love to turn to Him. So don’t waste the waiting. Let it stir your heart toward Him. Trust that the day is coming when every tear will be wiped away—and hold on to the hope that God’s promises never fail.
