Keep Building Even When No One Claps
"Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ." - Colossians 3:23-24
There is a hidden part of obedience that no one talks about much. It is the part where you are building what God told you to build, and nobody seems to notice. The part where you are doing the work, day after day, and there is no applause, no spotlight, no affirmation. Just you, your assignment, and the silence.
But that silence does not mean you are off track. It might just mean you are exactly where you are supposed to be.
God does not measure faithfulness by how many people notice you. He measures it by how closely you walk with Him. Nehemiah did not rebuild the wall of Jerusalem for the approval of people. He built it because God had placed the vision in his heart. And when opposition came, when critics started talking, and when the people got tired, Nehemiah did not stop building. He did not walk away to chase affirmation. He stayed right where God had put him.
Maybe you are in a season like that right now. You are doing what God has asked, but you are not seeing the fruit yet. Or maybe you are leading something important, but the support is thin. You are pouring out more than you are receiving, and part of you wonders if it is worth it.
Let this be your reminder. You are not building for applause. You are building for the Lord. You are not showing up because it is easy. You are showing up because He is worthy. Keep building. Keep showing up. Keep being faithful when no one is watching. Your reward is not coming from people. It is coming from the One who sees it all.
