Hope Beyond Today

“He will wipe away every tear from their eyes. Death will be no more; grief, crying, and pain will be no more.” – Revelation 21:4

Ever heard the skeptics’ question, “If God can eradicate evil and suffering, why hasn’t He done it?” Here’s the scoop: just because He hasn’t done it yet doesn’t mean He won’t.

The Bible holds a promise, a day etched in the fabric of eternity, when sickness and pain will vanish. Revelation 21:4 paints a vivid picture: “He will wipe away every tear from their eyes. Death will be no more; grief, crying, and pain will be no more.” That day is coming!

On that same day, people will be held accountable for the evil they’ve committed. 2 Corinthians 5:10 reminds us, “For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each may be repaid for what he has done in the body, whether good or evil.” Paul, speaking to believers, makes it crystal clear—justice will be served.

Romans 14:12 echoes the sentiment: “Each of us will give an account of himself to God.” In simpler terms, a day is coming when justice will prevail perfectly.

So, when skeptics question why evil and suffering persist, we can stand firm. The day is on the horizon when tears will be wiped away, death will be no more, and justice will be served. God’s promise stands—suffering will cease, and evil will be eradicated.

Think about the weight of that promise. In moments of despair, when we witness the brokenness of our world, we can anchor ourselves to the certainty that God is not indifferent to our suffering. He promises a day when every tear will be gently wiped away by His loving hand. A day when pain and grief will be memories, overshadowed by the eternal light of His presence.

The skeptics may question, but we can hold on to the assurance that our hope goes beyond today’s struggles. A day is coming when suffering will cease, and God’s justice will prevail. Let’s live today with the anticipation of that glorious tomorrow.
