When God’s Vision Interrupts Your Plan

"Come, let’s rebuild Jerusalem’s wall, so that we will no longer be a disgrace." - Nehemiah 2:17

Sometimes God gives you a burden that you can’t ignore. And with that burden comes a call that won’t go away. It starts quietly, an ache in your spirit about something that’s broken. Then comes the prayer. You bring it to God, not even knowing what to say, but knowing you can’t carry it alone. And if you keep praying, eventually, clarity comes. A vision begins to form. You start to see what God sees. And before long, you realize something big. God is calling you to do something about it.

That’s where many people freeze. Because vision always leads to movement. And movement always requires sacrifice. God rarely calls you to sit still. When He gives you a burden and begins to show you what could be, He’s inviting you to step into what should be. But here’s the catch. His vision almost always interrupts your vision. It shifts your priorities. It pulls you away from comfort and into calling. And many times, it will stretch you beyond what you thought you were capable of.

Have you felt that tension before? Maybe you’re feeling it right now. Maybe God is stirring something in you, and you know it would change everything if you said yes. It might mean walking away from the path you planned for yourself. It might mean starting something new. Or leading in a way you don’t feel ready for. But if God is calling you, He will equip you. And if He is burdening your heart, He is likely preparing your hands to do something about it.

The question is not just, “What is God showing you?” The question is, “Will you move when He does? Will you say yes even when it is inconvenient? Will you trust His plan even when it interrupts yours? You may not feel ready. But that has never stopped God from using someone willing.

If you are praying for direction, be ready to move. Because God’s vision is not just something you see. It is something you step into.
