DIFFERENT

February 23, 2023

“To put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.” – Ephesians 4:22-24

DIFFERENT. When you hear the word, what do you think? Maybe you think of someone who is a little DIFFERENT than you and your friend group. Maybe you think of somewhere you’ve been that is DIFFERENT from all the other places you have been. Maybe you think of someone you have competed against that was DIFFERENT from your usual competitors.

Google it, and the word DIFFERENT means, “Not the same as another or each other, unlike in nature, form, or quality.”

Oftentimes, when we think of DIFFERENT, we think of people. But what about your life? You say, think, and wish for a new life. You want a change in your lifestyle. But by now you probably realize that saying, thinking, or wishing for it doesn’t change anything.

The change you are looking for only happens through Jesus Christ. If you have not been following along with us, read back over the last few days as we have discussed this in great detail.

But what you have to realize is that the change you want comes from living a DIFFERENT life. Ephesians 4:22-24 says, “To put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.”

If “DIFFERENT” means “not the same, unlike in form,” then we must realize that, in order to change our lives, we have to live in a way that is “not the same.” We must live in a way that is “unlike the form” of our current life.

If you allow Him to, Jesus will change your life for the better. But that means you will have to live DIFFERENT. Are you ready for that?
