Wake Up and Remember

“Remember, then, what you have received and heard. Keep it, and repent. If you are not alert, I will come like a thief, and you have no idea at what hour I will come upon you.” - Revelation 3:3

Do you remember the day you gave your life to Christ? Think back to that moment. The joy, the relief, the overwhelming sense of peace as the weight of your sins was lifted. Jesus says to the church in Sardis, and to you, “Wake up and remember.”

Recall what you have heard—the message of Jesus, the gospel of salvation. This isn’t just a story; it’s the truth that changed your life. The good news is that Jesus died for your sins and rose again, offering you eternal life. You didn’t just hear this; you received it. The grace of Jesus was poured into your life, transforming you from the inside out.

Remember the things He forgave you for. Each sin, each failure, is washed away by His blood. The freedom that came with that forgiveness was unparalleled. You were no longer bound by guilt and shame. Instead, you were a new creation, filled with a newfound passion and purpose.

Can you recall the peace that He gave you? The kind that surpasses all understanding, calming your heart and mind even in the midst of chaos. This peace was a gift, a sign of His presence in your life. It’s a peace that’s meant to be cherished and remembered, especially when life gets tough.

Think about the passion that was birthed in you. You wanted everyone to know Jesus like you did. There was a fire in your heart, a burning desire to share the gospel with those around you. What happened to that fire? Has it dwindled down to a mere flicker?

Jesus urges you to remember the power that overcame your sin. The Holy Spirit is at work within you, enabling you to live a life that honors God. That power hasn’t left you; it’s still available to you. It’s time to tap into it once again.

Do you remember the praise that used to flow so naturally from your heart and lips? Songs of worship, words of adoration, a heart full of gratitude. That praise was a response to the love and grace you received. It’s time to bring that praise back into your life.
Wake up and remember!
