A Revelation for You
“The revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show to his servants the things that must soon take place.” - Revelation 1:1
If you're a servant of God, then the book of Revelation was given to you. It’s not just for the theologians or scholars, and it's not just for people who have a deep understanding of Scripture. It’s for you. The Revelation of Jesus Christ was delivered with you in mind so that you can be prepared for the things that are coming.
John, the author of Revelation, was a servant of God, just like you. He was in exile on the island of Patmos when an angel appeared to him, delivering the message that we now know as the Book of Revelation.
But it wasn’t just an angel. As we read in verse 10, John was filled with the Holy Spirit on a Sunday, and suddenly, Jesus Himself appeared to him. Can you imagine that? The Son of God appearing personally to John and giving him a message to share with the seven churches of Asia Minor. That message, though, is meant for you, too.
When John saw Jesus, he was so overcome with awe and reverence that he fell at His feet, unable to stand in the presence of the Almighty. But Jesus didn’t leave him there. He placed His right hand on John and said, "Do not be afraid." In that moment, Jesus reassured John that the message He had for him was not to bring fear but to bring clarity, hope, and preparation.
Just like John, you might face moments when you feel overwhelmed, unsure, or afraid. Life can feel like a lot to handle. But just as Jesus reassured John, He wants to reassure you today. Do not be afraid. The things that are coming, while they might seem overwhelming, are part of God’s plan. He wants you to be prepared, not scared. His Word is meant to strengthen you, give you hope, and remind you that He is always in control.
As a servant of God, you have access to the truth of what’s coming. You don’t have to live in fear or confusion. Jesus is with you, and just as He did for John, He will strengthen you to face whatever comes your way. Will you trust Him to prepare you for what’s ahead? Will you open your heart to His message and let Him remove your fears? The revelation of Jesus Christ is for you.
