Something Deeper

"Charm is deceptive and beauty is fleeting, but a woman who fears the Lord will be praised." - Proverbs 31:30

There is something exciting about an instant connection. The rush of emotions, the butterflies, the feeling that you just click with someone. That kind of chemistry can be powerful, and the world says it is the most important part of love. If the spark is strong enough, the relationship will last. If the attraction is intense enough, nothing else really matters.

But what happens when the spark fades? What happens when feelings shift and attraction is not as effortless as it once was? If chemistry is the foundation of love, what is left when the emotions are no longer as strong?

The truth is, chemistry can create a spark, but it cannot sustain a fire. Proverbs 31:30 reminds us that beauty is fleeting. Attraction can change. Emotions come and go. If love is built only on those things, it will not stand. A real relationship needs something deeper.

Love is more than physical attraction. It is more than the thrill of a first conversation. It is choosing to stay when excitement is replaced by routine. It is valuing someone not just for how they make you feel in the moment, but for who they truly are. It is a commitment built on something stronger than emotion, something rooted in God.

That is why the strongest relationships are not built on chemistry alone. They are built on shared faith, deep trust, and a love that reflects the way Christ loves. If you build your relationships on that foundation, they will not crumble when the excitement settles. They will stand firm through every season.

So do not chase chemistry at the expense of something greater. The world may tell you that love is about feelings, but God shows you that love is about commitment. The spark may start the fire, but only a love rooted in Him will keep it burning.
