Don’t Miss the Moment
"Make the most of the time." - Colossians 4:5
Every day is filled with moments that pass quickly. You move from one task to the next, scroll through feeds, check your notifications, and suddenly the day is gone. But God didn’t just give you time to fill with noise and distraction. He gave you time to steward, and He calls you to use it wisely. Paul’s words in Colossians are not casual advice. They are a challenge to wake up and pay attention. You are not guaranteed tomorrow, but you are responsible for today.
To make the most of the time means living with spiritual awareness. You start seeing interruptions as opportunities. You start realizing that the people around you might need more than a polite smile. That coffee shop conversation, that ride to school, that lunch break. Each moment has potential for eternal impact if you’re paying attention. God places you in specific places with specific people on purpose. The question is whether you’ll notice.
Living this way does not mean filling your schedule with more stuff. It means approaching what you already do with a Kingdom mindset. Are you present when you're with others, or are you mentally elsewhere? Are you asking God to open your eyes to needs around you, or are you too focused on your own plans? The person in front of you might be praying for someone to notice them. You might be their answer.
Paul says to walk in wisdom and make the most of every opportunity. That requires intention. You don’t drift into a meaningful life. You direct your heart, your focus, and your priorities. You ask God to lead, and then you move with purpose. Don’t wait for a perfect moment. Just be faithful with the one you’re in.
I want to challenge you today to put the phone down. Look someone in the eye. Ask a better question. Speak life. Be interruptible. Be present. Because the next moment might not seem like much, but God can use it in ways you cannot imagine. Don’t miss it.
