Trusting The Guide When The Mountain Gets Steep
"I lift up my eyes to the mountains, where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.” - Psalm 121:1–2
Climbing a mountain is tough, especially when the path gets steep and you can’t see the summit. The same is true in our walk with God. We often start out strong, but when challenges get real, whether it is financial struggles, family conflicts, or questions about faith, we may want to give up and go back to what feels safe.
But God calls us to keep moving forward and trust Him, our ultimate Guide. He knows the trail, sees the summit, and gives us the strength we need for each step. Real faith acts before the outcome and trusts before understanding everything.
We do not have to climb alone. Life is better together. Let your church community encourage you and help you carry heavy burdens. Lean on God’s Word, which lights our path and strengthens us for every challenge. Bring your struggles into the light and seek support instead of trying to hide what Jesus came to heal.
If anxiety or fear rises as you climb, focus on God. Don't just worry. Worship. Don't just panic. Pray. Don't just seek control. Seek the Kingdom.
Creation itself reminds us of God’s greatness. Each mountain and valley proves He is powerful and cares for us. As we trust Him with our next step, we find new strength and can support others along the way.
Prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father, when our journey feels too hard, help us trust You as our Guide. Give us courage for the next step, and surround us with people who will encourage us along the way. Remind us that all our help comes from You, the Maker of heaven and earth. In Jesus’ name, amen.
