HE KNOWS ALL

Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? Tell me, if you know so much.” – Job 38:4

When Job didn’t understand what God was doing and why He was allowing things to unfold in Job’s life the way they did, he questioned God. But after all the finger-pointing and name-calling, after all the accusations, assumptions, and misrepresentations, God finally responded to Job.

He says in Job 38:4, “Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? Tell me, if you know so much.” Then if you keep reading chapter 38, you will see about 70 verses where God reminds Job that His eyes are blinded to nothing that is happening in the universe.

He’s a God who KNOWS ALL, SEES ALL, and IS AWARE OF ALL THINGS. He’s a God with a universal vantage point! And that is what God was emphasizing in His response to Job that day. He was saying to him and showing him that Job was not God. He didn’t see things from God’s perspective. He didn’t have a universal vantage point.

In other words, God told Job, ‘You’re asking questions that are way above your paygrade. I’m the potter…you’re the clay. I’m God and you’re not!’

Has God ever made it that clear to you? If not, that might be what He wants to tell you right now. Listen, I know you might be going through difficult circumstances. And you don’t understand why God has allowed this in your life. But while you might not know, HE DOES.

He knows ALL. He knows everything, He can see everything; past, present, and future. He sees the entire picture. And as a human being, you just can’t. You can’t possibly see it from His perspective. But that is OKAY. God never asked you to see what He sees. That is why we must trust Him.

Remember, whatever you are going through, God already knows. He knows what you are going through, He knows how to get you out, and He knows what you need. He is with you every step of the way. Stop fighting Him and start trusting Him. He’s got it all figured out.
