SHOW THEM THE SOLUTION

July 30, 2022

“For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.” – Romans 6:23

If we are going to serve God well, we need to see people like He sees people. But we also have got to SHOW people the solution to their problem. It is not enough just to see people with great needs. As faithful servants, we should also show them their solution.

In most areas of life, we are very quick to offer suggestions and solutions when we see people that have a need. Last year I posted on Facebook, “I’ve got spiders in my house.” Within 10 minutes, I had about 50 recommendations for pest control companies and at-home bug killers. Some even recommended realtors.

But we do that in all areas of our lives, don’t we? When we see someone with a need, we try to point them in the right direction. If they are sick, we point them to a doctor, or medicine, or a treatment of some kind. If their car won’t start, we break out the jumper cables or call a tow truck or offer to drive them to a car dealership.

It is likely you have done this if not once, a thousand times. If someone we know, someone we love, has a major or even minor problem, we are quick to point them to a solution. But for some reason, when it comes to the GREATEST problem that people have, we are much slower to point them to the solution.

Our greatest problem is SIN. The result of that problem is DEATH. Romans 6:23 says, “For the wages of sin is death…” The destination that results from that DEATH is a very real place called HELL. In Matthew 13:32 Jesus describes Hell as a “furnace of fire.” He said, “there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.” That is bad news!

The good news is that we don’t have to get what we deserve because God provided a solution to our greatest problem. And that solution is Jesus! As quick as we are to offer solutions about small things, we should be just as quick to offer the ultimate solution. Jesus Christ is the answer to our greatest problem!
