FULLNESS OF GOD

February 15, 2023

“May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.” – Ephesians 3:19

When you better understand the love of God, you will be filled with a fullness that is incomparable to anything you will ever chase in life. You say, “Pastor, what do you mean incomparable to anything I will ever chase in life?”

When you are filled with the fullness of God, you don’t have to pursue the things of this world that always leave you empty. Think of the things you have chased after in your life.
Maybe it is sex. Maybe it is the high you get from of drugs or the calming feeling of alcohol. Maybe it is a desire to be loved by an imperfect human who has failed you. Maybe it is a location you wanted to live to “get away from everything” only to find yourself moving again… and again.

When you chase after the things of this world, you will always be disappointed. These things cannot live up to the expectations and hopes you have because your expectation and hope are that you will be fulfilled.

“If I can only have… If I could just… If only…” You finish the sentence and dream of the fulfillment you would find. The problem is, even if you had it, you would not be fulfilled. Only the love of God can fulfill your heart the way you desire.

Ephesians 3:19 says, “May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.”

Paul prayed that we would know Christ’s love in such a way that we are filled with all the fullness of God. What you desire…what you want…you aren’t going to find in this world. When you seek to know God on a deeper level…to know His love for you on a deeper level…only then will you find the true fulfillment you are looking for.
