CONQUERING PERCEIVED FEARS WITH GOD’S STRENGTH

July 27, 2023

“Moses answered the people, ‘Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today.'” – Exodus 14:13

Perceived fears are the products of our overactive imagination when our minds get the best of us, and we envision worst-case scenarios. These fears can grip our hearts and paralyze us, hindering us from fully experiencing the abundant life God has planned for us. However, the verse from Exodus 14:13 reminds us that in the face of perceived fears, we are called to stand firm in faith and trust in the deliverance of the Lord.

When we allow our minds to be consumed by perceived fears, we become prisoners of our own thoughts. We imagine the worst possible outcomes, allowing anxiety and worry to take hold. But God’s Word reminds us that He is greater than our fears and that His deliverance is certain.

Just as Moses encouraged the Israelites to stand firm and trust in God’s deliverance at the Red Sea, we too can find strength in God’s promises. When our minds are filled with perceived fears, we can choose to shift our focus from the imagined threats to the unwavering faithfulness of our Heavenly Father.

Conquering perceived fears requires intentional steps of faith. Firstly, we need to surrender our anxieties to God. We can bring our fears before Him in prayer, pouring out our hearts and seeking His peace that surpasses all understanding. As we release our perceived fears into His capable hands, He will replace them with His perfect peace.

Secondly, we must saturate our minds with God’s truth. By immersing ourselves in His Word and meditating on His promises, we can combat the lies and exaggerations of our perceived fears. The truth of God’s love, faithfulness, and provision becomes an anchor for our souls, grounding us in His peace and assurance.

Lastly, we can lean on the support of a loving Christian community. Sharing our struggles and fears with fellow believers can provide encouragement, accountability, and prayer support. Together, we can remind one another of God’s faithfulness and empower each other to stand firm against perceived fears.

As we trust in God’s faithfulness, we can walk in freedom from the grip of perceived fears. Embrace His peace, His strength, and His deliverance. Step forward with confidence, knowing that He is with you every step of the way.
