CHOICES NOT CHANCE

“The lot is cast into the lap, but its every decision is from the Lord.” – Proverbs 16:33
Ken Blanchard once said, “Choice, not chance, determines destiny.”
This statement could not be more true. We live in a world where everyone wants to be the victim of their own circumstances. Listen, I’m not trying to turn a cold shoulder on your circumstances. What I am saying is that your circumstances, no matter how bad, do not have to determine your way of life.
You don’t have to be where you are. You might have started out in circumstances you don’t wish upon anyone. But nothing says you have to stay there. It’s one thing to start out somewhere, especially when you didn’t control where you started from. But you can change that path.
It is choices, not chance, that will determine your destiny. Proverbs 16:33 says, “The lot is cast into the lap, but its every decision is from the Lord.” If you have been in the same bad situation for months, years, or even DECADES, it is not by chance. It is the choices you continue to make that leave you wanting more.
Do you want to change the course of your life? Change your choices. It’s time to do a life audit. What choices are you making that are keeping you from living the life you want to live? More importantly, what choices are you making that are keeping you from living the life God destined you to live?
God has a special plan and purpose for your life. But He can’t fulfill that if you are making choices that oppose His will. Are you where you want to be? If not, why is that?
It’s not by chance. Evaluate the choices you are making. Figure out what different choices you need to make to live the life God destined for you. You will begin to find the blessings God always had for you when you make the choices that align with His will.
