Faithful Stewardship
“His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You were faithful over a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Share your master’s joy.’” — Matthew 25:21 (CSB)
The goal of stewardship is to hear these words from our Master when we stand before Him. Faithfulness in small things prepares us for greater responsibilities and deeper joy. As we reflect on our journey through stewardship and purpose, we see that contentment comes not from having more but from being faithful with what we've received. God doesn't measure success by the size of our gifts but by the faithfulness of our hearts. When we steward His gifts well, we experience the joy of participating in His work and the satisfaction of living according to our purpose.
Faithful stewardship is often shaped in the ordinary moments of life. It shows up in how we use our time, how we handle our resources, how we serve others, and how we respond when no one is watching. These daily choices may seem small, but they reveal what we believe about God’s ownership and our responsibility. When we remember that everything we have is entrusted to us by Him, even simple acts of obedience become meaningful expressions of worship.
Stewardship also requires trust. At times, we may feel that what we have is too little to matter, or that our efforts go unnoticed. Yet God delights in hearts that are willing, humble, and consistent. He is not asking us to compare our assignment with someone else’s, but to walk faithfully in our own. As we offer Him what we have (our abilities, opportunities, possessions, and influence), He uses our faithfulness in ways that reach beyond what we can see.
There is deep peace in living as a faithful steward. We no longer have to chase worth through achievement or possession, because our identity rests in belonging to Christ. Instead of striving to prove ourselves, we can serve with gratitude and purpose. The more we surrender what is in our hands to the Lord, the more we discover that stewardship is not a burden, but a privilege. It is an invitation to live each day with open hands, a willing heart, and confidence that God honors faithfulness.
As you move through today, take a few moments to consider one area of your life that God has placed in your care (your time, resources, relationships, or gifts) and ask how you can steward it more faithfully. Choose one simple act of obedience.

Lord, I want to be found faithful when You evaluate my stewardship. Help me continue growing in faithfulness with all You've entrusted to me, and may I experience the joy that comes from serving You well. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
