He Chose You Anyway
"But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." - Romans 5:8
Have you ever stopped to think about the fact that God knew exactly what He was getting into with you, and He chose you anyway?
We sometimes wrestle with the idea that God, in all His wisdom and power, knew how broken this world would become. Couldn’t He have seen the heartache, the rebellion, the sin, and chosen to scrap the whole plan? Of course, He could. But He didn’t. Why? Because His love for us outweighed the risk of our rejection.
Think about parenting. Before having kids, you probably had moments when you judged other parents, thinking, “We’ll do it better.” But deep down, you knew the truth; no matter how good your intentions were, raising kids would come with heartbreak, disappointment, and sleepless nights. You knew there would be moments of pain, yet you still chose to have children. Why? Because you believed the joy, the love, and the relationship were worth it.
That’s a small reflection of the heart of God. He saw all the ways humanity would fail Him. He saw every moment we would ignore Him, reject Him, or hurt each other, and He still said yes to us. He still chose to create us. He still chose to redeem us.
Romans 5:8 says, “But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” He didn’t wait for you to clean yourself up or prove you were worth the risk. He loved you first.
Here’s the challenge: Are you living today as if you are fully chosen and fully loved by God? Or are you still trying to earn His approval or wondering if He regrets His decision about you?
You don’t have to walk through life feeling like you’re barely enough or on the edge of losing His love. God chose you, knowing everything about you. The good, the bad, and the broken, and He still decided you were worth it. Let that truth free you to live boldly, love deeply, and walk confidently as His beloved child.
