ADOPTED INTO GOD’S FAMILY
“Even as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before Him. In love He predestined us for adoption to Himself as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of His will.” – Ephesians 1:4-5
God, the Creator of the universe, made you in His image. Did you know that? Well, He did. But unfortunately, so many people live their lives in a way that doesn’t resemble the one who created them.
Many people aren’t following God because they haven’t been changed by God. That is why Paul speaks to a very specific group of people in Ephesians 1. He is speaking to people whose lives have been changed by God through Jesus.
Ephesians 1:4 says, “Even as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before Him. In love.”
Don’t miss this today. If you’ve been saved, forgiven, redeemed, and made new, that is because Jesus came to you. He met you at your point of need. He chose you and He offered His salvation when you were unworthy and unable to save yourself. Before you were ever born, God knew that He was going to send His Son to save our souls.
He says in Ephesians 1:5, He predestined us for adoption to Himself as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of His will.”
That is where life change happens. Life change happens when we are adopted into God’s family. When we are adopted into His family, we become spiritually joined to God. And when that happens, certain changes will naturally begin to happen in our lives.
Because now, we’re not only made in the image of God, but we now have the nature of God. The spirit of God, the presence of God, and the power of God are in our lives. We are no longer talking about human biology and human DNA. I’m talking about spiritual biology and our new spiritual DNA.
When God adopts you—He changes you. He changes your spiritual DNA and enables you to live a new kind of life. Aren’t you thankful God adopted you when you couldn’t help yourself? Aren’t you thankful He is a God who changes lives?
