HAVE YOU ASKED?

February 18, 2023

“You desire and do not have, so you murder. You covet and cannot obtain, so you fight and quarrel. You do not have, because you do not ask. You ask and do not receive, because you ask wrongly, to spend it on your passions.” – James 4:2-3

Are you looking for a life change? Maybe you are unsatisfied with your current lifestyle. Whether it is where you live, where you work, who you surround yourself with, or who you have become…something has to change.

You know that. You know something needs to change. And so you do everything in your power to try and change, or maybe you don’t do anything. You just look things up. You look at all types of motivational YouTube videos and TikToks. You study the traits of highly successful people. You even read books about them.

But nothing has changed. And you continue this endless cycle, frustrated your life isn’t what you hoped it would be or want it to be. So you just continue to wonder, how will I ever change? How will my life ever change?

The only way for you to experience true change is through Jesus Christ. As we said yesterday, He is the only one with the capacity, ability, and POWER to make true, lasting change in your life. But have you even asked Him?

James 4:2-3 says, “You desire and do not have, so you murder. You covet and cannot obtain, so you fight and quarrel. You do not have, because you do not ask. You ask and do not receive, because you ask wrongly, to spend it on your passions.”

Sometimes, it is as simple as that. We don’t have because we haven’t asked. We have looked in a million different directions except in the One that actually has the answers. Jesus is the only one with the power to make a real change in your life.

Have you asked Him to help you? If you do, He will. He will help bring the true change your life needs. Maybe, the only reason you don’t have what you want is because you haven’t asked for it!
