Your Path is Prepared
"He will not let your foot be moved; he who keeps you will not slumber." - Psalm 121:3
When I read the verse above, I am reminded of a winter storm we faced back in January. Our driveway was coated with ice so thick that our cars couldn’t make it up the hill. I tried everything. Salt, shovels, even a propane torch, but nothing worked. At one point, I even slipped and slid down the driveway on my backside. It was embarrassing and left me feeling completely helpless.
Just when I was out of options, a friend drove by with bags of industrial-strength ice melt and asked if I needed some. Within minutes, the ice was gone and we could drive again. The one thing that actually worked was applied to the problem, and everything changed.
That’s how God works in our lives. The Psalmist says, “He will not allow your foot to slip.” When God is your source, He provides you with solid footing, giving you the traction you need to keep moving forward. You might try to create security in your own strength, but nothing will truly work until you place your trust in Him.
Psalm 18:33 says, “He makes my feet like the feet of a deer and sets me securely on the heights.” This is talking about God giving you the ability to walk with confidence and security. It’s like the female red stag, whose back feet step exactly where the front feet have already packed down the ground. That precision allows the deer to launch from solid footing and climb higher than most animals could ever reach.
Are you feeling stuck or unsure of your footing today? Are you trying to climb to new heights in your own strength? Let God be your source of security. Trust Him to guide your steps, give you solid footing, and set you securely on the heights. Only He can give you the foundation you need to reach the places He has prepared for you.
