IS GOD YOUR NUMBER ONE PRIORITY?
“Love the Lord Your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.” – Mark 12:30
In the midst of our busy lives, it’s easy to lose sight of our priorities. We can easily become consumed by the demands of work, relationships, possessions, and personal ambitions. However, it’s essential for us to regularly evaluate our hearts and ask ourselves: Is God truly our number one priority?
God desires to be the central focus of our lives. He longs to have the first place in our hearts, thoughts, and actions. When we prioritize Him above all else, we align ourselves with His kingdom and experience His blessings and provision.
Idolatry is not limited to worshipping physical idols; it also encompasses anything we put above God in our lives. It could be our career, relationships, material possessions, or even our own desires and ambitions. When we elevate anything above God, we diminish His rightful place in our lives.
God desires our complete devotion and surrender. He wants us to seek His kingdom and righteousness above all else. When He holds the first place in our lives, we experience the peace, joy, and fulfillment that only He can provide. All other aspects of our lives fall into proper perspective when God is our number one priority.
Take a moment to reflect on your life. Is there something more important to you than God? Is there anything that consumes your time, energy, and affection more than Him? It could be a good thing, but if it takes precedence over your relationship with God, it becomes an idol.
Let us commit ourselves to seeking God above all else. May we prioritize spending time with Him, studying His Word, and seeking His guidance in every area of our lives. When we make God our number one priority, we honor Him, experience His blessings, and live in alignment with His will.
