OUR HELP COMES FROM THE LORD
“I lift up my eyes to the mountains—where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.” – Psalm 121:1-2
In a world filled with uncertainties and trials, it is easy to feel overwhelmed and ask, “Where does my help come from?” We may look to various sources for assistance, but the psalmist reminds us that our ultimate help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.
The psalmist begins by lifting their eyes to the mountains, symbolizing the vastness and grandeur of the world around them. They acknowledge the limitations of human strength and the insufficiency of earthly solutions. The psalmist recognizes that true help cannot be found in human accomplishments or material resources alone.
The answer to their question is clear: “My help comes from the Lord.” Our help, in all its forms, originates from the One who created the heavens and the earth. It is God Himself who comes to our aid, offering guidance, provision, and protection. He is the source of all wisdom, strength, and grace that we need in our lives.
As believers, we can take great comfort in the fact that our help comes from the Lord. Unlike the temporary solutions and fleeting assistance of this world, God’s help is unwavering and everlasting. He is always present, always faithful, and always ready to come to our aid.
When we face challenges, we can lift our eyes to the Lord and find solace in His presence. He is our refuge and strength, a constant and reliable help in times of trouble. We can trust in His promises, knowing that He will never leave us nor forsake us.
In the midst of the mountains that loom before us, representing the obstacles and trials we encounter, we can have unwavering confidence in God. He is greater than any mountain we face. His power and sovereignty extend beyond the highest peaks and the deepest valleys.
As you navigate the complexities of life, remember that your help comes from the Lord. Lift up your eyes to Him, knowing that He is your ever-present help and that nothing is too difficult for Him. Trust in His unfailing love and allow His strength to sustain you. In Him, you will find the guidance, provision, and peace that surpasses all understanding.
