EMPOWERED FOR THE MISSION

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely, I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” – Matthew 28:19-20

Our mission is clear. We are called to make disciples of all nations, to baptize new believers, to teach them God’s word, and to show them how to follow Christ. It’s not just a set of instructions; it’s a calling that echoes through generations.

In our quest to fulfill the Great Commission, we’ve coupled it with Acts 1:8. This verse amplifies the geographical scope of our mission, reminding us that the power of the Holy Spirit empowers us to be witnesses not only in our local Jerusalem (Bradley County) but also in our Judea and Samaria (surrounding communities like Ooltewah), and to the ends of the earth (Nepal, Kenya, Cairo, etc.).

When you hear us say we’re making disciples and living on mission across the streets, across the states, and across the seas, Acts 1:8 is the heartbeat of that declaration. It propels us beyond our comfort zones, reminding us that the mission field extends far beyond our immediate surroundings.

Yet, it’s not just about going—it’s about equipping. Ephesians 4:12 underscores our role as a church: “to equip the saints for the work of ministry, to build up the body of Christ.” We are not sent out unprepared. The Holy Spirit, promised by Jesus, is our constant companion, providing the power and wisdom needed to carry out the Great Commission effectively.

Beloved, you are not alone in this mission. The Spirit of God empowers you to be a witness, not just in distant lands but in your everyday life. As we prioritize missions and equip ourselves for the work of ministry, remember that you carry the transformative message of Christ wherever you go. Be empowered, be intentional, and be a witness to His love.

Embrace the empowerment of the Holy Spirit in your daily life. Whether across the street or across the seas, you are called to be a witness and make disciples. Be intentional in equipping yourself for the work of ministry, building up the body of Christ wherever you find yourself today.
