YOUR JUDEA

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” – Acts 1:8

If you want to honor God with your life, you will need to submit to His will. And while I can’t tell you exactly what His will is for your life (it is different for everyone), there are some things I know about His will for you.

First, it is your mission to live out The Great Commission. Jesus wants you to share the gospel…that is, what He did for you and everyone else on the cross. And He wants you to do that, as Acts 1:8 says, in Jerusalem, Judea, and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth!

The verse says, “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

Now, you might be saying, “Pastor, I don’t live near any of these places… how am I supposed to share the gospel there?” The good news is you don’t have to go there to share the gospel. Jesus was speaking to the disciples, but there is a connection for you too.

Your Jerusalem, as we talked about yesterday, is your own city or community. Your Judea is the state you live in. Once you have shared the gospel with those in your community, God wants you to share it with others in the communities around you!

Whether you go on a road trip, to a ball game, or out of town for business, everywhere you go is a new opportunity to share Christ’s love with others. That is exactly what The Great Commission is talking about.

It doesn’t necessarily mean you have to get up and move. It starts in your own community, but then it extends to the cities and towns around you. As you venture out, don’t leave the love of Christ at home! Continue to share the gospel everywhere you go. After all, that is God’s good and perfect will for your life!
