Courageous Living in God's Will
"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go." - Joshua 1:9
Courage isn't the absence of fear; it's taking action despite our fears. Daniel's life exemplifies this truth as he faced daunting trials and challenges yet remained steadfast in his faith and obedience to God.
As Daniel was thrown into the lions' den, with the king's seal locking its entrance, the situation seemed dire. Historians recount the gruesome fate that often awaited those cast among hungry lions. But Daniel's trust in God outweighed his fear of this incredibly difficult situation.
Can you imagine the terror of facing a den of starved and agitated lions? Yet, Daniel's trust in God remained unshaken. He emerged unscathed, a testament to God's faithfulness and Daniel's unwavering faith.
In life, we may face metaphorical lion's dens—situations that seem overwhelming and terrifying. But just as Daniel found safety in the lion's den with God, so too can we find security in the center of God's will.
Living courageously means overcoming the fear of missing out, the fear of people, and the fear of radical obedience. It means trusting in God's plan even when it seems risky or uncertain. And it means acknowledging that the safest place we can be is in the center of God's will.
So, let's take a cue from Daniel's life. Let's be courageous in our faith, trusting that God is with us wherever we go. Let's overcome our fears and walk boldly in obedience to His will. For when we do, we'll discover the truest form of security—the security found in the unwavering love and protection of our faithful God.
