Lordship

"Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will." - Romans 12:1-2

In our journey of sacrifice, there are certain principles, or "flesh hooks," designed to keep us firmly on the altar as living sacrifices. These principles are essential for living lives that fulfill our purpose and are pleasing to God. Today, let's explore the first flesh hook: Lordship.

Paul, in Romans 12:1-2, urges believers to present their bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God. But he doesn't stop there; he emphasizes the importance of not being conformed to the pattern of this world but being transformed by the renewing of our minds. This transformation is the essence of Lordship.

Lordship is about allowing God to be the ultimate authority in our lives. It's a complete surrender to His will and a willingness to be transformed by Him. When we embrace Lordship, we choose to no longer be shaped by the values and standards of this world but to be molded by the truth of God's Word.

The process of transformation is similar to the metamorphosis of a caterpillar into a butterfly. Inside the cocoon, the caterpillar undergoes a profound change of form, emerging as a beautiful butterfly. Similarly, when we surrender to God's Lordship, He begins a transformative work within us, changing our hearts, minds, and lives.

But how do we embrace Lordship practically? It begins with a conscious decision to submit every aspect of our lives to God's authority. It means seeking His will in all things, allowing His Word to shape our thoughts and actions, and obeying Him wholeheartedly.

When we get Lordship right, we experience the freedom and joy of living in alignment with God's perfect will. We no longer conform to the world's standards but are transformed into vessels of His grace and love.
