Aware Of His Will
"He made known to us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure that he purposed in Christ as a plan for the right time—to bring everything together in Christ, both things in heaven and things on earth in him." — Ephesians 1:9-10
In Old Testament times, God's plans and goals weren’t as clear as they are today. We have clarity now regarding God’s purpose and the “mystery of His will” because Jesus came and revealed it to us. The word "mystery" appears five other times in the book of Ephesians, meaning "a truth once hidden but now made known."
Paul emphasizes that Jesus made known the mystery of God’s plan, and since we are in Christ, we have knowledge of His will. This is like having "insider information" in the world of stocks and investing. Jesus provided us with ‘insider information’ into what God was doing and what God would soon do. He came to reveal God’s will.
In investing, insider information allows someone to know about a company’s future plans before they are made public. If you knew that a company's stock was going to skyrocket tomorrow, you’d likely invest in it. Similarly, if you knew an industry would flourish in the next 5 to 10 years, turning every $100 into $1 million, you’d find a way to invest.
Jesus came 2,000 years ago, offering us this kind of insider information. He revealed God’s plans and purposes, making known to us the mystery of His will—a plan to bring everything together in Christ. Jesus talked about the Kingdom of God, told us how to avoid Hell, and invited us to join Him in Heaven for all eternity. He gave us a heads-up and an opportunity to experience God’s very best.
Notice that He doesn’t force us to take action. He doesn’t force us to repent, surrender, love Him, or hate sin. Instead, He revealed God’s will and invited us to believe in Him, showing us that the payoff is huge for those who go all-in with Him.
We are blessed because we are aware of God’s will. Embrace this knowledge and let it guide your actions, knowing that God’s plan, revealed through Jesus, is designed for our ultimate good and His glory.
