Faithful To The End

“Be faithful to the point of death, and I will give you the crown of life.” - Revelation 2:10

In Revelation 2:10, Jesus promises the crown of life to those who are faithful until death. This crown symbolizes eternal life, a promise echoed in James 1:12: “Blessed is the one who endures trials, because when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.”

God calls us to be faithful until the end of our earthly journey. Jesus gave the church at Smyrna two commands to help them remain steadfast:

1. Be Fearless—Live for Jesus without fear.

2. Be Faithful—Continue in your faith until you see Jesus.

In our lives, staying fearless and faithful can seem overwhelming, especially during challenging times. But Jesus gives us the strength and assurance we need.

What does it mean to conquer, as Jesus mentions in Revelation 2:11? To conquer, according to Scripture, is to be born again. Jesus explains the difference between those who are born once and those who are born twice: “Those who are born once will die twice, and those who are born twice will only die once.”

If you have experienced only a physical birth, you will face two deaths: physical and spiritual. However, if you have been born again—both physically and spiritually—you will only die once, physically. This is the promise of eternal life that Jesus offers to all who believe in Him.

Can you say that you are a conqueror today? Have you been born again? If so, Jesus assures you that you will never be harmed by the second death.

Being fearless and faithful means trusting in Jesus’s promise and living with the hope of eternal life. No matter what trials you face, remember that Jesus has already overcome the world. He walks with you through every hardship and will welcome you into eternal life.
