Jesus Holds the Key
“I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” - John 14:6
Jesus holds the key. He alone holds the key to salvation, security, and satisfaction. No one else can do what Jesus can do. The world doesn’t hold the key—neither do your friends, your connections, your network, your wisdom, your family name, your education, or your resume. Only Jesus, the Holy One, the True One, holds the key.
You might think, “That sounds narrow-minded.” And you're right. Truth is narrow-minded. 2 + 2 equals 4 because it’s the truth. Water boils at 212 degrees and freezes at 32 degrees because it's the truth. A compass needle points to magnetic north because it's the truth. Truth is unchanging and absolute, and that’s why salvation is narrow.
In today’s key verse, Jesus says, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” This means you will never reach God unless you go through Jesus. The satisfaction you’re looking for, the hope you long for, the forgiveness you desperately need, is only possible through Jesus Christ. He alone holds the key.
In Revelation 3:8, Jesus says, “Look, I have placed before you an open door that no one can close.” This door represents an opportunity—a door between the culture and the kingdom. It’s through this door that people receive eternal life. It's through this door that God’s people are sent out on a mission to preach His word, share Christ with others, make disciples, and plant churches.
Jesus has opened a door that no one can shut. This door leads to the kingdom of God, the new Jerusalem. Between the culture on earth and the Kingdom of God, there’s a door. Through that door, we receive eternal life. Through that door, we are sent on a mission to bring the good news to the world.
As individuals, we face the same challenge. Jesus holds the key to the door of eternal life and mission. Are you relying on Him to open the doors in your life? Are you walking through these doors with faith and purpose, or are you missing the opportunities He places before you?
Remember, Jesus alone holds the key. No one else can open or shut the door to your salvation, security, or satisfaction. Trust Him, follow Him, and walk through the doors He opens for you. Your eternal destiny and your earthly mission depend on it.
