Protected by the Good Shepherd

“I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand.”- John 10:28

One of the most comforting truths about Jesus is that He is fiercely protective of His flock. As the Good Shepherd, He doesn’t just lead you, He guards you. Imagine Him standing at the entrance of a cave, placing Himself in harm’s way to protect you from wandering off or from danger coming near. That’s the kind of Shepherd He is.

In John 10:28, Jesus makes an incredible promise: He gives eternal life, and no one can snatch you out of His hand. Think about that. His hand isn’t weak or shaky; it’s strong, unmovable, and righteous. When you belong to Jesus, you are held in the secure grip of the Savior. There’s no force, no enemy, no circumstance that can pull you away from Him. How amazing is that?

This truth is echoed again in Isaiah 40:11, which says, “He protects his flock like a shepherd; he gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them in the fold of his garment.”

Jesus doesn’t just watch over you from a distance, He carries you. When you’re too weak to walk, when life feels overwhelming, He gently picks you up and keeps you close. He shields you from harm, providing safety and security that you won’t find anywhere else.

The world can be full of dangers and uncertainties. But in the middle of all that, Jesus stands between you and whatever tries to take you down. He doesn’t let you go, and He doesn’t let anything get to you without His permission.

That’s how much He loves you. He’s not just a shepherd; He’s a protector, a defender, and a refuge. When you trust in Jesus, you can rest knowing that you’re safe in His hands, and nothing can snatch you away.
