Obey God No Matter What

“If you love me, you will keep my commandments.”- John 14:15

“Impossible situations are where God’s glory shines the brightest.” This powerful insight from Sarah Walton encapsulates an important truth we see throughout the Bible.

Think of Daniel in the lion’s den, Peter in prison, Jonah in the belly of a whale, and David facing the giant Goliath. The stories of the disciples battling storms, lepers grappling with their ailments, Thomas wrestling with doubts, and even Lazarus, who faced death—all reveal the same striking theme: God’s glory shines in every adversity.

Christian character isn't formed during trials, it is unveiled. In those challenging moments, your true strength, faith, and resilience are revealed. You may find yourself facing your own lion’s den or prison today, grappling with situations that feel overwhelming. Yet, in the midst of uncertainty, you can trust God and choose to obey Him, regardless of the circumstances.

When God prompts you to move forward, your path may seem daunting but remember to take that step. Obedience is about trusting in His plan, even when the road ahead is unclear. If God asks you to give, resist the temptation to hold back by saying, “I can’t afford to give.” The truth is you can’t afford not to give! When you give with a heart aligned with His will, you open doors for blessings in ways you might not even expect.

Your gifts are not meant to be hidden away. God calls you to use them for His glory. Whether it’s diving into His Word, serving your community, or doing something unexpected for the Kingdom, put your “yes” on the table and obey. Jesus emphasized this call in John 14:15, reminding you that love for Him is demonstrated through obedience.

Walking by faith may not always be easy, but with God, it’s entirely possible. Are you living courageously today? If not, remember these principles. Choose the eternal over the temporal, fear God more than people, and above all, obey God, no matter what! In your obedience lies the key to unlocking the fullness of God’s glory in your life. Step forward in faith and watch how God’s light shines brightly through you.
