The Promise of Blessing
"Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear the words of this prophecy and keep what is written in it, because the time is near." – Revelation 1:3
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to receive a personal promise from God? In the book of Revelation, we get exactly that. A clear and direct promise of blessing. The promise is simple: if you read, hear, and keep the words of this prophecy, God will bless you. No other book in the Bible comes with such a promise. It’s a guarantee that you can hold on to, a reminder that God’s Word is not just meant to be heard but also to be lived out.
But this promise comes with a condition. Jesus says, "If you do this, then I will do that." The key to unlocking this blessing is not just reading or hearing but actively keeping and applying what you learn. It’s not enough to simply hear the words of Revelation or any part of Scripture. God is calling you to believe in them, keep them close to your heart, and let them transform your life.
The reason this is so important is because "the time is near." We are living in the last days. The last days began with the first coming of Christ, and now we’re waiting for His return. The question isn’t if He will come, but when. And more importantly, are you ready for that day? The promise of blessing isn’t just about hearing a good word; it’s about preparing your life for the return of Christ.
Are you living your life in light of His return, with a heart that is eager and prepared? The time is near. It may feel like it’s far off, but Jesus said the time is near, and we are called to live with that awareness. When you read the words of Revelation, they should stir something in you, a sense of urgency to align your life with God’s will.
God promises blessings for those who listen, believe, and act on His Word. Don’t let this promise pass you by. Take this moment to reflect. What steps can you take today to prepare for the return of Christ? Now is the time to be ready, to live in the truth of what God has promised, and to experience His blessing as you stay faithful to His Word.
