The Storm is Coming
"The rest of mankind, who were not killed by these plagues, did not repent of the works of their hands nor give up worshiping demons and idols of gold and silver and bronze and stone and wood, which cannot see or hear or walk." - Revelation 9:20
Imagine being warned about a massive storm heading your way. A meteorologist, armed with knowledge and tools you don’t have, is urging you to prepare. Yet, despite the warnings, some people will stockpile for themselves, others will ignore the threat, and still others will take the necessary steps to protect not just themselves but also those around them. This is the reality of how people respond to warnings, and it mirrors what we see in Revelation.
Even as catastrophic events unfold and people see the consequences of their choices, many will still refuse to repent. They’ll cling to idols, destructive behaviors, and rebellion against God, bypassing His mercy and choosing His judgment instead. It’s sobering, isn’t it? But it’s not just a glimpse of the future, it’s a reflection of today.
God, in His mercy, has given us a clear warning through His Word. He’s showing us the storm that’s coming and giving us the opportunity to prepare. The question is, how will you respond? Will you choose preservation, focusing only on your own survival? Will you persevere in your own ways, ignoring the warnings and trusting your instincts? Or will you choose preparation, heeding God’s call and taking steps to be ready?
Preparation isn’t just about securing your eternity; it’s about helping others do the same. God’s mission for you is to live in a way that reflects His love, to share the hope of the gospel, and to warn others with the same urgency He has given you. This isn’t a time for complacency. It’s a time to turn your heart fully to God, to repent of anything holding you back, and to take action.
The storm is coming, but you don’t have to face it alone. God has provided everything you need through Jesus. He’s calling you to prepare. Not just for yourself, but for the sake of others. Let today be the day you take the warning seriously, align your life with His Word, and step into the mission He’s given you. Be ready, and help others be ready too.
