Are You Ready?
"Therefore you also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect." - Matthew 24:44
As we discussed yesterday, we love the idea of status. Whether it’s in life, in church, or even in something as simple as airline boarding, people like knowing where they rank. But when it comes to eternity, there is no ranking system. There’s no first class or economy, no front row or back row. You are either in or you’re out. You either have your ticket or you don’t.
So let me ask you—are you ready? Not just ready for tomorrow or next week, but ready for what’s coming next in eternity?
A lot of people wonder how they could possibly know what’s ahead, but the Bible doesn’t leave us in the dark. In fact, the book of Revelation lays it out. It tells us that one day, Jesus will return. The church will be raptured. The Antichrist will rise to power. Seven seal judgments and seven trumpet judgments will unfold. And that’s just the first half of the Tribulation.
We’re not talking about guesses or possibilities. We’re talking about things God has already determined will happen. And the question isn’t whether or not these things will come to pass. The question is, will you be ready when they do?
Jesus made it clear in Matthew 24:44 that He will come when people least expect it. That means there’s no time to procrastinate. No time to assume you’ll get things right later. If He came back today, would you be confident in your eternity?
This isn’t about fear, it’s about preparation. If you’re in Christ, you don’t have to be afraid. You don’t have to wonder. You don’t have to scramble to earn your place. The only thing that matters is whether you’ve placed your faith in Jesus. If you have, then no matter what happens in the days to come, you’re ready.
Don’t wait any longer. If you’re not sure where you stand, settle it today. Because when that moment comes, there won’t be time to grab a ticket. You’ll either have it or you won’t.
